Is my child disabled?

my son had a crainal vaut reconstruction march.19 this year.
his swelling has already gone from his head but the wires,plates and screws have not yet dissolved so thing are
sticking out to his left side fo his head.he has head aches almost everyday,and cries alot .he never was like that it hurts me to see him this way.

im very sorry for what your son had to go through. its good that the swelling has gone down. cranial vaut reconstruction is a very intense procedure, and the recovery period is quite long, but it is a fairly common procedure and the recovery rate is quite good. the fact that the swelling has gone is a good sign, and headaches are a common side effect with any head or brain surgery. talk to his doctor about any medication he is allowed to take to help reduce the pain. i understand that the first few months up to maybe even a year can be hard for your son and yourself, but after it is all done you will be happy and he will also. just think about in the future it will be all better, and just be there with him to fight the pain now. i hope he gets well soon! also the plates and wires will eventually dissolve, they are not usually quick to get rid of.
I would think the surgeon working on your child would have team of therapists and specialists
